Biography

Jim Quealy, grew up on Long Island, New York and started playing the local club circuit at the age of seventeen. He has since lived and performed in New York City, London, Southern California, and most recently Nashville where he lived for four years writing and performing.

Quealy won the New York Songwriters showcase grand prize, as well as Musician Magazine's “Best Unsigned Band” and the singer-songwriter continues to write material for himself and other artists. Jim performs as a solo act accompanying himself on guitar, piano and harmonica, as well as teaming up with vocalist Nola Shepherd.

Since recording his first record twenty years ago, Jim has released 7 albums, 2 EP's, and countless singles. As a songwriter, Jim has been signed to publishing deals with Columbia and Criterion Music. He is currently a member of Sesac Music and continues to produce albums on his own independent label, “Mudfram Records”.

Ten Quealy-penned jazz compositions can be heard on Sue Hart's CD “Private Book”.. Jim currently lives in Los Angeles and is performing at Captain Jack's in Sunset Beach where he has performed since 1991.
